More Florida Fun

So much fun!!

Potter Park!

I used to have lots of fun playing here as a kid. Then for a while I would sit on the structures and not play with my other too-cool 16 year old friends. But now the grounds are fun again as I watch Emma climb and explore, and not bump her head.

NH weekend

It was a very full weekend! We left for NH at 10 and watched as more and more green gave way to fall colors the farther from home we were. We stopped in Massachusetts (not in Boston as I originally thought was the plan. Actually I thought Boston made up all of Massachusetts but apparently there is at least a few other cities in that state) and ate at a diner called the Shady Glen. Emma danced on the seat, spied on people through holes to the next booth, and ate from our plates as well as her own slice of fresh toast. From there we went to an open house at the Hallmark Institute of photography where Patrick graduated from in '05... Very nice place! I was impressed by the still life sets and enjoyed touring the main building. Emma walked on to a stage to get a better look at a slide show, we walked through the gallery, then headed on to Patricks parents home in Antrim.

Emma at MiMi and PopPops:

Emma fell asleep just before arriving for lunch at Harlow's pub and I couldn't bear to wake her. She tripped and bumped her head on the driveway just before leaving and it was past nap time so I didn't see any other option but to carry her into the restaurant in her convertible carseat. Thanks to my wonderful husband for making that haul possible and not thinking I'm crazy :)

A Tale of a Frustrated Cat - in Pictures

Home sick.

Emma has a cold. A minor but persistent one that stuck around since Sunday night and is only now letting up. We've been staying home more than usual and missing our usual playground outings and playdates but we've been keeping busy here. We've continued learning about farm animals, foxes, and preparing food. Emma likes to mimic me putting things into a pot and stirring it around with a spoon.

Lion Squished Banana soup!

We went to the park yesterday to burn off some energy (and lion soup is very high in calorie if you weren't already aware) Emma was thrilled to be out, actually ran on the track, gathered fallen nuts and leaves, and sat on a great stump.

This is Emma telling me she hears something.

Emma telling me it's a plane!

And that little speck was actually a spectacular plane in person.

Emma loves watching planes! Soon the two of us will be on a plane to see my mom and dad (Emma's CoCo and Granddad) for a week. Thinking about flying and travel without Patricks help makes me nervous but Emma is always as easy as can be. I worry she won't settle or will get upset or travel will be hard on her, and my fears are never realized. We're lucky parents to such a cool tempered baby :) still, I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope that it won't be the first time she loses her cool on a flight.
