Emma is obsessed with Catrick's food. She has observed me fill his dish numerous times, heard the clinking of kibbles falling into the ceramic dish, seen Cat come running over. Finally it was her turn. I brought the materials down to the floor and showed her how it was done. Armed with a large spoon and a measuring cup she went right to work.
Together Emma and I picked up kibbles that had fallen on the floor and added them to the bowl which I then placed in our window nook where Cat eats. I think next time I will fill a larger bowl with kibbles and provide that with the empty food dish and scoops, rather than the large container she has to reach down into to get kibbles. I think I'll even set up a similar activity with dry beans that she can practice with. Emma is eager to scoop and transfer, and I need to give her opportunities to do so.
Later, after a trip to the playground with friends we brought home a play stove that belonged to Emma's friend Millie. What a treat it was receiving this, Emma adores it! She played with it for an hour straight before I was finally able to coax her into a nap.
She boiled some rice..
